Current Indicators (Levers):
▪ There is recognition that food production is interconnected with the entire ecosystem, and that the food production practices Maine follows should aim to reduce soil erosion and carbon pollution, and improve soil health and water quality.
▪ Maine’s farmers and fishermen have access to the tools, technology and financial resources needed to support “best management practices” and “risk management strategies” that are designed to protect or improve the environment.
